Rail Trail Hike

Celebrating American Hiking Society's National Trails Day'

Historic Gold Hill will again host a hike along the Historic Gold Hill Rail Trail.
 The Tour/Hike will begin at The E.H. Montgomery General Store in the village at 9:30AM.
 Wear hiking boots or tennis shoes..NO OPEN TOE SHOES or FLIP FLOPS
 Bring insect repellent
The Rail Trail is a protected property of The Land Trust for Central North Carolina. It was developed in partnership with The Historic Gold Hill and Mines Foundation, Inc. and was protected by the Land Trust in 1997 by fee simple acquisition. The 6.92 acre property is an important historic site and provides an area for recreation.

Hikers will get a lesson in history as the trail passes sites and landmarks in Gold Hill Mines Historic Park. Those not interested in hiking will enjoy visiting the shops.
