We're proud to announce more additions to this year's event in the Heritage Living Area. The Civil War Living History Encampment area has been increased and an adjacent area will also include a Shingle Mill, Antique Block Press a blacksmith and more.
Anyone having interest in displaying wares in this area should call 704.267.9439. Spaces are available on approval.
The 63rd North Carolina Troops will again host a Skirmish between the North & the South at 2:00PM on the lawn behind the Log Barn.
The troop is pictured below firing a volley during the parade at last year's Founder's Day Celebration.
Founders' Day Parade will begin at 10AM - Lineup starts at The Gold Hill Fire Department.
There's Food, Fun and Entertainment for all ages throughout Gold Hill Mines Historic Park.
Be sure to visit The E.H. Montgomery General Store in the Historic Village of Gold Hill during the festival. The store has a gift shop w/gems & minerals, gold specimens, gemstone rings, along with informational brochures on Gold Hill History and Folklore. The shop also serves hand-dipped Hershey's Ice-Cream and sodas. Be sure to check out the original Gold Hill Art Series of paintings by Vivian Pennington - Hopkins.
Other shops in the village include Mauney's 1840 Store-Antiques Etc..., Gold Miner's Daughter (Full Service Florist and gifts), Southern Grace (Arts/Crafts, Antiques, Original Art, etc... located in the beautifully restored homeplace of the Shaffer Family), The Filling Station(Amish Heirlooms, arts/crafts), Log Cabins home of 'The Village Garden' and The Metal Workers Shop - Ornamental Metal Animals and yard art. Of course if you need food other than what's served in the park, visit Gold Miner's Cafe in the village.
